NISSAN โต้กลับ FORD ยื่นจดเครื่องหมาย Skyline ในแคนาดา

Nissan Skyline สปอร์ตขนาดกลาง ตำนานของนิสสัน ผลิตครั้งแรกในปี 2500 จากบริษัทพรินซ์มอเตอร์ หลังจากนั้นได้ถูกรวมเข้ากับนิสสันในปี 2509 ปัจจุบันพัฒนาจนถึง เจนที่ 13 ตั้งแต่ 2557 – ปัจจุบัน

ถึงอย่างไร Skyline ก็คือ NISSAN เพราะพัฒนาการออกแบบทางวิศวกรรมมาตั้งแต่ปี 2500 โดย Shinichiro Sakurai ซึ่งเขาเป็นหัวหน้าแผนกรถรุ่นนี้ก่อนที่เขาจะเสียชีวิตในปี 2554 และ สำหรับ Nissan Skyline พัฒนามาทั้งหมด 13 เจนเนอเรชั่น ปัจจุบันคือเจนที่ 13 เปิดตัวตั้งแต่ปี 2557

Skyline แบรนด์รถยนต์ที่เก่าแก่ของนิสสัน มีประวัติอันยาวนานกว่า 64 ปี Skyline ได้รับความนิยมสูงสุดในปี 1970 ซึ่งขายได้กว่า 660,000 คันในปี 4 แต่ในโฉมปัจจุบัน V37 Skyline / Sylphy / Fuga / Cima ทั้ง 4 รุ่นขายได้เพียง 5800 คันเท่านั้น คิดเป็นเพียง 1% ของยอดขายทั้งหมดในปี 2020

FORD ประกาศชัดเจนในการจดสิทธิบัตร Skyline ในสหรัฐฯ ในวันที่ 12 กรกฏาคม 2021 หมายเลขสิทธิบัตร 90823372 แม้ว่า ฟอร์ตยังไม่ได้มีความชัดเจน สำหรับเครื่องหมายการค้า SKYLINE อย่างไรก็ตามก็มีความเป็นไปได้ที่ ฟอร์ตอยากจะพัฒนารถสปอร์ตญี่ปุ่นในโฉมใหม่

หรือฟอร์ตอาจปลุกวิญญาณของ Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner รถเก๋าในปี 1957-1959 โดยใช้ชื่อ Skyline ? ก็เป็นไปได้

และ รายละเอียดอื่นๆ ว่า ฟอร์ต จดทะเบียน SKYLINE ไปทำไม อันนี้ยังไม่ได้รับคำตอบแน่ชัด

แต่ล่าสุดทาง NISSAN ได้ยื่นจดเครื่องหมายการค้า Skyline ในแคนาดา ในวันที่ 25 สิงหาคม สำหรับใช้กับรถยนต์และสินค้าอื่นๆ เป็นการยืนยันว่า Skyline คือนิสสัน ไม่ใช่ฟอร์ตอย่างมีนัยยะ

นิสสันยังส่งรูปถ่ายรถยนต์รุ่นหนึ่งเพื่อเป็นหลักฐาน โดยอ้างว่ามีการใช้งานตั้งแต่ 1 ส.ค. พร้อมรูปถ่ายโมเดล Skyline 25GT-X Turbo 1998

เป็นเรื่องยากที่จะบอกว่า Nissan มีแผนที่จะใช้ชื่อ Skyline ในอนาคตจริงหรือไม่ ซึ่งมันไม่ได้เกิดขึ้นมานานแล้ว หรือ เป็นการโต้ตอบ FORD ก็เป็นไปได้

Nissan even submitted a photo of a model car as evidence, claiming it was used as early as Aug. 1:

While that was going on, Nissan also filed a trademark for Skyline in Canada on Aug. 25 for use on automobiles and other (non-toy) goods:
